Questions & Answers Q&A

A. Two other much more common reasons (95% of the time) cause tooth sensitivity.

The most common reason is night time grinding that interferes with the normal blood circulation inside the tooth.

The treatment is to simply adjust the bite or make a splint that is worn over the teeth at night that stops that over use/abuse.

This type of pain will go away generally by itself but will reoccur when you get stressed out in your sleep again.

The other reason may be decay but it is much less common than the first.

Taking care of that decay can generally stop the sensitivity and avoid a root canal.

This ends up straining and possibly damaging those... read more

Digital x-ray | Gregory Vigoren | Dentist | Newport Beach, CARadiographs or x-rays are used in every dental office. They are a great way to see the teeth and bones and make sure they are healthy. In the past, x-rays were taken using little pieces of covered film. They were placed in the mouth and exposed using an x-ray machine. They always jabbed inside the mouth and seemed to take forever to be processed. Well, those days are now behind us! In the new era of dentistry, dentists are using digital radiography. The same x-ray machine is used to expose the... read more
