"I have been taking my daughter to Dr. Matthews since she was a child. She got her braces from Dr. M. & although my daughter was a special case w/a small mouth & too many teeth, Dr. M. worked on saving as many teeth as possible. The staff is great. My daughter is now 17 & does not fear going to the dentist. She looks forwrd to getting her teeth cleaned on regular intervals. Thank you Dr. M & your team for being so GREAT!! w/kids and making their experience one that is positive for a lifetime. Thank you, Emily, Eli & Kimberly Ortiz"

Child brushing teeth | Dr. Richard Matthews | Pediatric Dentist | Spring, Texas

Baby teeth are so cute and little! But when should a dentist see those little things? Baby teeth have lots of different names: milk teeth, baby teeth, and deciduous teeth. The last name is the actual dental definition. In any case, deciduous teeth need to be... read more

Children's orthodontics | Dr. Richard Matthews | Pediatric Dentist | Spring, Texas

It used to be that kids got braces when they were in middle school or even high school. Now it seems that children are starting orthodontics in elementary school. Why the rush? There have been studies that show that the sooner children start some kind of orthodontics, the more successful their treatment will be. Although most orthodontic problems are best treated with traditional braces, some problems need to be treated as soon as they are noticed, no matter how young a child is. Because... read more
