We take numerous pictures of our patients at their initial exam. So, yes, pictures are a vital piece of the puzzle to evaluate a new patient's bite and dental alignment. Fortunately Invisalign is an excellent tool to align teeth for patients who are teenaged or older. Unfortunately pictures alone especially sent from home without seeing the patient here in my office would not be adequate for a proper and complete orthodontic analysis. I am often stopped by prospective patients in public with the plea," Can you tell if my child will need braces?" My answer is, "I'm always happy to take a look but our initial consultation in my office is always free of charge AND MUCH MORE THOROUGH. My guess is that if you can see teeth in your child's mouth that are not well aligned then a thorough and complimentary initial exam with an orthodontist would be advisable. I am happy to speak with you online. Hope to meet you soon at my office. Sincerely, Michael McLaughlin, DDS, Board Certified Orthodontist.
