"Each person that I've spoken with in Dr. Duboys office has been friendly and courteous. Not only did Dr. Duboys do a great job of stitching my daughter's face back in April (I also wrote the other anonymous review), but he also works with Save a Smile Foundation to help children in poor countries that have cleft palates."

"I went for breast augmentation and had a totally different opinion of the doctor than Melis. He did a wonderful job and explained everything that he was able to do as well as the pros and cons of each type of implant, surgical approach and position. He even pointed out differences in my breasts that I had never noticed before. I had the surgery and am delighted. Prior to going to Dr. Duboys I asked my friends and my doctors and only got rave reviews about the doctor. I checked him out on the internet to only find 1 negative comment among the many that I saw. I really don't understand Melis' comment. If she didn't like the doctor from the start - why did she have the surgery with him? If he didn't do it "her way" - why did she stay? Did she expect to go to a doctor and tell the doctor how to perform the surgery, or did she go for the doctor's opinion and experience? Seems to always be a "bad apple" in the bunch. I have found that each doctor I consulted had their personal opinions and approaches. I chose Dr. Duboys, because he spent the time (close to 45 minutes at our first consultation - at no charge) and explained his reasoning for the way he approaches the surgery unlike many others who I saw. How many of us would work for 45 minutes and not get paid? - and that was only for me. Imagine working an entire day offering your experience and expertise and not getting paid! How many of us would do that? From consultation to procedure to post-op and follow up, I only saw him and not nurses or others in the office for medical care and questions. He even called me the evening prior to the surgery to see if I had any questions. In fact, I was even more surprised to receive a call the evening of the surgery to see how I was going. He has a "boutique" practice and doesn't run a mill like others that I consulted . There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that I made the best choice by chosing Dr. Duboys and would do it all over again. He's the best! I have recommended him to many others all of whom have been delighted with their results. By the way, I am not a friend, family or staff - just an extremely satisfied patient."

"He let us come to his office, even when typically they require you to go to the hospital and they meet you there. It was even a time when he wasn't seeing patients, so he was wearing blue jeans. He was very nice and did a good job stitching her face. His staff was nice, as well, and gave our son some stickers to play with while we waited for our daughter to get stitched. He worked very quickly and gave us clear instructions for taking care of her wound."

"I had breast augmentation with Dr Elliot DuBoy in his huntington office. From the beginning i could tell he was not going to listen to exactly what i wanted. We went over my options but always responded with "I dont do that, I;ll do it this way". So now i have my breasts done and one is a full cup size bigger than the other and one is a lot higher than others. His escuse was "thats just your body' but when i went to other doctors they said he obviosuly is just not taking accountibility for his work. I told Dr Duboy and showed him the uneveness and he said he would fix it pro bono for me b/c it was clearly uneven and he told me just to stick some toiler paper in it to make it even....my fiance was like "Then what was the poibt of her getting her breasts done"? So i have emailed dr duboy and called and he has ignored my call to fix my breasts. So I warn everyone, DO NO GO TO DR DUBOY!! go to Dr greenburg or a few more docs in the NYC area."

Questions & Answers Q&A

A. Not too much more that I can add to the responses that you've already received. There are many different face-lift techniques and each surgeon has his/her preference. Beware of a surgeon that just uses one technique. Each of the face-lift techniques has their appropriate indications. You wouldn't have a more aggressive procedure performed (deep-plane) if all you needed was a SMAS technique. I'm also not sure of what is meant by deep-plane. There is a technique called sub-periosteal face-lift which some people refer to as a deep-plane procedure. This procedure, on double blind analysis has not been shown to be more advantageous than some of the less aggressive techniques. To reiterate what others have said - make sure that you seek out a board certified plastic surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. There are many physicians who say they are board certified - but the American Board of Plastic Surgery is the only board approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties the major certifying organization.
