"Going in I knew I needed a lot of work, this was a 2nd opinion based off my initial bad one from a nameless dentist in Mandarin (San Jose & 295) I was really turned off to dentistry. Donald came and got me from the waiting room, sat me down in an office to talk first. He then brought me to a chair, which is when his assistant took over to take pictures. While in the chair I could hear his interaction with other patients, which was just as good and attentive as I was receiving. He truly is a caring dentist. I am still shocked. He offers all options and asks what you want to do. He does not force you into anything, no pressure and treats you like a person and not just a payday. He knows his craft and honestly cares for his patients. If you are looking for a dentist you should really give Donald Alexander, DDS a chance you will NOT be sorry."

Questions & Answers Q&A

A. To answer your question. It would generally be quite easy and uncomplicated to correct that situation with Invisalign in a relatively short amount of time with little to no discomfort
A. Generally speaking, most dental work is undergone with some kind of anesthesia. Therefore, we would need some kind local anesthesia and a system to dispense it, usually an injection. In restorative dentistry the decay isremoved and some kind of preparation is created with a handpiece(drill),some people will use a hard laser for smaller defects but this is generally not efficient for larger defects. After the preparation has been created the tooth requires a restoration. If it is going to be placed directly in the tooth, I use composite,a resin based material, and contour it with hand instruments and finishing burs and polishing points. If the required restoration is of sufficient size that it needs to be fabricated outside of the mouth then some kind of impression or model must be made in order for the restoration to be made indirectly. In my office we use the CEREC system most of the time and pick eMax as the material most frequently. There really isvery limited need to ever not restore a tooth to both proper form and function but also esthetics. Basically almost no need for metal of any kind. Hope this helps.

Invisalign Clear Aligners | Donald Alexander | Dentist | Jacksonville, FL
The Invisalign method consists of a series of thermoplastic clear aligners that are custom made for you. They move your teeth in a sequence recommended by your dentist. You change the aligners every 2 weeks, and visit your dentist every 4-6 weeks for a check-up. Typical treatment time is about a year, though it varies from patient to patient.

First, your dentist will determine if Invisalign is right for you. Next, the dentist will take impressions (models), photographs and X-rays of your teeth... read more

Crowns in One Hour

Dental crowns (or caps) have been used to fix broken or decayed teeth for over one-hundred years. For most of this time, gold crowns were the best choice. But what if you don’t want to flash an 18-carat grin?

After that, a way was found to make a tooth-colored crown out of porcelain fused to metal (PFM), much in the same way that porcelain bath tubs and kitchen sinks are made. The problem is that a PFM crown looks unnatural because, unlike your real tooth, this type of crown does not let light... read more

Dental Implant | Donald Alexander | Dentist | Jacksonville, FLWhy Should I Replace a Missing Tooth?
