"My experience was surprising smooth sailing. It was nice to see how far technology has improved with hearing tests and hopefully the same for the hearing aides.

"My experience has been awesome! Carol and her staff are extremely knowledgeable, and they have helped me deal with my hearing loss in the most positive way possible. I feel very fortunate to have landed in their office four and a half years ago when I moved here. Because of Carol's expertise and knowledge, and with the assistance of the State of New Mexico and state-of-the-art technology, I am able to perform my job and live my life in a much more efficient and comfortable way than I thought would be possible. I am forever grateful!"

" Carol Clifford is quite warm and attentive, taking time to explain what is being assessed, the outcome of the examination and the approach to resolving problems. The client's imput, questions and comments are heard.
My bottom line concerns were addressed and I was offered unexpected information of what may or may not be a source of my personal concern (tinnitus). Several avenues of treatment were presented and a focus was selected.
The front desk staff is friendly and efficient, making one feel welcome and relaxed. When I left, I was confident I'd dealt with professionals.

"I'm content and feel Carol has done everything she can so far to try and fit the Lyric, despite three fittings. This really is no reflection on her or Albuquerque Hearing Associates as my ear is rather sensitive. What I will say is that she's been knowledgeable and patient, even providing of her own time after hours to fit my schedule. Her staff are friendly and attentive, and it was their office that pointed me at Dr. Horns who diagnosed my EVA syndrome after trying multiple locations. Bottom line: I would recommend them to anyone."

"I have been hard of hearing for the past 40 years, which is most of my life. I have also had several hearing Audiologist since I started my hearing loss when I was a child at 9 years old. Being at a very young age with a mild hearing loss and never having a friend or former school mate that was hard of hearing back then I rejected that hearing aids till I was almost a Adult. Most of the hearing Audiologist would pressure me and never make me feel as though they cared about me and my hearing. I would always leave with new hearing aids, was unhappy, and never felt that any of the Audiologist cared about me at all and always felt that they cared only that they sold another pair of hearing aids to me without making me feel like they cared at all. I am now a Mother of 2 teenagers, and both of my kids are hard of hearing as well. About 5 years ago my kids school Audiologist told me about her friend Carol Clifford that is a Audiologist. I have been seeing Carol Clifford since and I have never been happier. Within the past 40 years before I had Carol Clifford my hearing was getting worse. I was set up with a pair of hearing aids from Carol about 5 years ago and have won them every day since. I also received a Cochlear Implant in December 2010, and can now hear a lot better then before. I always wish I would have had or known about Carol Clifford years ago. My family is very happy with Carol and her staff at Albuquerque Hearing Associates. My kids, and my Mom all have hearing aids from Carol, and always feel so comfortable with her and trust her very much. I really wish more hearing Audiologist would be so much like Carol Clifford, with all of her time, patience and devotion she puts into each and everyone one of us. Each and everyone of my family would highly recommend Carol Clifford and the Albuquerque Hearing Associates to anyone that would want or need a kind and caring hearing Audiolost. Every staff member there is ALWAYS nice, friendly and very willing to help you."

"It was lovely. This was the first time I have visited this office and I am somewhat unfamiliar with the part of town it was in. Consequently, I become lost on the way. When I called in to inform that that I was lost and might be late, the staff gave me helpful directions from my location. When I arrived, they were friendly and personable. Dr. Clifford was especially friendly and courteous and was able to answer all my questions."

".."I am writing to tell you that you are an excellent audiologist, not only technically but also personally, because you take time with me, ask questions and really listen to what I am sharing. When you decide on a course of treatment you explain what you are doing (or not doing) and why. Asking my audiologist in Colorado for a referral what the best idea I have had in the past five years. There is a feeling of security in my life knowing that you are always available if I have a hearing problem.

Your staff are also personable, greeting me when I come in, sometimes taking a moment to ask how I am doing. This is something I do not feel in other medical offices where I am invited to sit down and am forgotten.

So I thank you and all your staff for being caring, dependable, and trustworthy".

Sincerely,

D.T."

"I had a good experience working on the issue of not understanding the use of my new digital hearing aid with Dr. Clifford. She took the time to explain the use of my hearing aid with its multiple channels to utilize the phone and other settings around me. Dr. Clifford is a good example of someone who is passionate about her work, and loves to work with people to improve their lives. I appreciate Dr. Clifford's time in working with me to use my hearing aid, as I have a severe to profound hearing loss. I have had this loss
since birth, and I can honestly say that Dr. Clifford is the best Audiologist that I have had the pleasure to work with.

"Dear Carol,
I wanted to take a few moments to express my gratitude for your wisdom and expertise in audiologist. Living with a rare medical condition is daily challenge of pushing the limits of medical research combined with an acceptance of the unknown-the fears, concerns and physical difficulties that put to test my inner strength and at times, weaknesses, Ehler-Danlos Syndrome is a puzzling condition that has tried its best to knock me down, unsuccessfully so far. I have been blessed with physicians and medical personnel that have gone above and beyond to help me conquer this fearful connective tissue disorder.
Thank you Carol, for helping me tackle yet another characteristic of EDS. Although I ray that progression is slow, I know that long term, I shall win this battle as well. I will always be grateful for your efforts in researching the audiology aspects of Ehler-Danlos Syndrom. There are so many of us out there that are seeking helping, comforting hand such as your own. From myself and fellow EDS'ers, thank you for reaching out and caring so much about the betterment of lives of people living with "special circumstances"
This testimonial is intended to honor and pay respect to Carol Clifford and the staff of the Albuquerque Hearing Associates.
I have been a hearing aid wearer for the past 20 years. It has been my experience that you consult audiologist or hearing aid dispenser, you are tested, a hearing aid is recommended, and a price is quoted. You buy and pay, and adjustments are made after the fact for better or worse. What a refreshing and satisfying experience it has been to be able to actually try the hearing aid product range offered by Albuquerque Hearing Associates and have adjustments and evaluations made by a very professional and caring group of people to determine what is right for you before purchasing.
After evaluating the Savia by Phonak, I was overjoyed to experience what I had been missing for years. I am a musician and had nearly given up on my music until the beautiful sounds that were in my mind from the past, but I could no longer hear, were restored to me by the advanced technology incorporated into this remarkable hearing device.
I whole-heartedly recommend that anyone needing a hearing aid take the time to experience and enjoy the Phonak line and the first class hearing health care provider at the Albuquerque hearing associates."

"I have been wearing Lyric Hearing Aids for several months now and I couldn't be more satisfied! They stay in my ear all the time so I can't lose them and so my pets can't find them. I've never replaced the batteries and what's even better is that I have less feedback. Using Lyric Hearing aid is the closest thing to having normal hearing that I have experienced."

"I had been aware of some hearing loss for years when I finally began to toy with the idea of looking at hearing aids. I went to three different dispensing audiologists in a 12-month period looking for two things. An evaluation of my hearing loss profile and a patient, coherent explanation of what type of device would best help compensate for my hearing loss. I was relieved to find that graphs plotting my hearing loss concurred. Disconcerting, however, were the widely varied opinions of what type of devices the made the greatest mark-up on? Why one would, for example, tell me a CIC device would be just the ticklet while another would say a CIC device was inappropriate for my hearing loss profile.
In frustration I scheduled an evaluation with a fourth, Albuquerque Hearing Associates. I told Carol Clifford that I had been to three other audiologists in the past year and explained my dilemma. The screening provided the same graphic representation of my hearing loss as the previous three. More importantly, Carol did what the others had not been willing, or able to do. She very patiently explained the positive factors of each as well as the detriments. She gave me the information I had wanted but not received from the others with whom I consulted."

"The wonderful receptionist was very helpful when I explained that I had dropped my new hearing aid and it had a hole in it. She got me in ASAP and even called ahead for me to make sure my hearing aids were under warranty! I was nervous about going here since my hearing aids are new and I recently moved here from Texas but the care I received here was excellent! I finally had the perfect fit after a year of remakes at the Texas clinic so I was crying when I broke my hearing aid and feared it would have to be remade. I met with Kenneth Lujan at ABQ hearing and discussed my concern & he was wonderful! He called Resound and explained what happened and made sure that if they had to remake the aid that they please call him first so he could make sure it was done right. He could have patched the aid at their clinic but it was under warranty so he sent it off for repair. I was so grateful that the aid was patched and returned quickly!! Also, they have the latest technology since they have a new hearing aid called the "Lyric" which can be left in the ear 24/7 for up to 4 months!! I love my in the ear hearing aids since the new digital aids make sounds more natural and even have settings for restaurants to cut out background noise. I feel so blessed everyday that I get to use my hearing aids. And I wish I had not waited so long to try them out for 30 days in Texas. I am so relieved that I have found this place to help me care for my aids if there are any more problems! So if you are shopping for new hearing aids then I highly recommend getting them and going to Albuquerque Hearing Associates to get them. Good Luck!"

"Dear Carol,
While I was sitting in the office waiting for my six-month check, I started reading your book of testimonials and realized I wanted to add mines to your book. Just a note to say thank you for all the help you have offered me, my daughter, and long distance my parents in Philadelphia. I've known a lot of audiologists over the part thirty years and you are one of the best!
The resound programmable in the canal aids you sold me fit perfectly and have not required repair for five years. Amazing. I believe our visit every six months help me keep on top of the maintenance required for tiptop operations. Its nice to have batteries that last almost two weeks because they are fresher and stronger than batteries you get at Costco or radio shack. I regained dimensional hearing with my current aids and I look forward to taking advantage of the new technology with my next purchase from you.
Thank you for the efforts you made to get Johanna to wear her hearing aids. I know she works much harder without them. Being on the edge of a serious hearing loss I so difficult to deal with especially when your 21. She's not ready t but at least I can still talk to her about the loss. She doesn't think there is an audiologist on the outer banks o NC. So she said she would think about seeing you when she comes home for thanksgiving. What more can you ask for? I think taking the aids out of the jewelry box would be a first step. At least she likes you and has been separated her displeasure of having a hearing impairment and her earlier hatred of all audiologist.
As for my parents in Philadelphia thank you, thank you, thank you! You told me why my mom has trouble with her aids. I didn't win the campaign for her to get behind the ear aids she really needed. However your explanation made me understand what's going on. Your suggestion about buying a set of current custom ear molds have saved the day while her aids made emergency visits to the resound shop. I've asked her audiologist to sneak in the appropriate aid to see if she can hear the difference and might decide to get some new aids that work.
Thank you for your patience, knowledge, sense of humor and professionalism, I even love the fact that you are a "home town" audiologist right outside the Corrales village limits. Someday you might even be part of Corrales.
I have a word of advice for those of you who are waiting to see carol. There are lots of places where you can buy less expensive aids in Albuquerque but they will never come with the knowledge and skill of carol Clifford. If I in doubt choose to buy your aids from her and you will never regret it. She makes great molds, has great interpersonal skills, and makes something very complicated seem quite understandable. Join the ranks of the hard of hearing who hear as well as we can with the capable help of a wonderful professional."
