Mischa Spiegelmock, Chief Technology Officer
Mischa grew up in Berkeley, CA and spent much of his youth tinkering with computer systems. He got his start in the world of professional web application development as an engineer at LiveJournal, and since then has become an experienced contractor with knowledge in fields such as real-time media streaming, administration of production linux servers, scalable web architecture and distributed computing. In 2010, Mischa helped John Kim transform his vision of a first-rate, modern health care informational website into a solid, powerful application used by thousands of people every day.
Ali Aalaei, Esq., General Counsel
Ali has a passion for entrepreneurship and corporate litigation while understanding the needs of software ventures and intellectual property. Mr. Aalaei is the General Counsel of DoctorBase and principal of ARI Law, and has held positions with the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy & Commerce, City of Boston Law Department, WilmerHale LLP, and California Institute of Computer Assisted Surgery ("CICAS").
Frank Higgins, Partnerships
Frank, born in Waterford, Ireland, moved to the US when he was 19 armed only with a degree in laser physics (which he barely used) and a dream. He spent the next 20 years building a technology resume including everything from the aforementioned lasers to software development and on to consulting in social media (the Twitter and the Facebook). Husband of 1 and Father of 2, he lives in San Francisco with no intention of moving.
Michael Haverhals, Marketing
Mike grew up in Seattle, and is a recovering geek with degrees in electrical engineering & technology management. After a decade long career with AT&T in San Francisco, he decided to jump into the online world to help spread some truth about how the "Internet tubes" and "the Google" really work. After taking an offensive charge (and really big elbow) in a basketball tournament back in the 90's, he was fortunate to get a great word-of-mouth referral to an excellent surgeon who could put his face back together. The desire to make these sort of recommendations available to everybody, along with the loftier goal of bringing honesty to the web, is why he joined in to start DoctorBase.
Sean Cottrell, Operations
Sean grew up in Orange County, California and attended UC Santa Barbara. As the Director of Operations for DoctorBase, he oversees all financial, operational and back-office functions for the organization including bloggers, editors and customer service teams. In his spare time Sean rides his bike and thinks about work. Seriously.
Tristan Schaub, Account Management
With over 15 years of client service experience in the healthcare industry, Tristan has a commitment to equipping medical organizations with the modern tools necessary for marketing success. In 2001 Tristan received his certification for Chiropractic Assistant from Parker Chiropractic College in Toronto. He also spends his free time supporting Teach for America.
Kimberly Carrillo, Web Development
Kimberly is a native Texan with ancestral ties to The Alamo. She studied German, French and Spanish at the University of Texas at Austin and Creative Writing at Austin Community College. She has worked at Jefferies & Co., Q-Up, S1 and IF Marketing & Advertising. She is also an avid genealogist giving her an interesting angle at web marketing research and results. When she is not attending or running a science fiction convention, Kimm can be found knee-deep in AdWords and code for DoctorBase.com.
Craig Markey, Content Management
As a blogger for DoctorBase, Craig builds, deploys and QAs blogs for healthcare providers. As part of his role, Craig ensures that patients have the best experience navigating provider blogs and network campaigns. As a lover of nature Craig spends time in his local area parks and enjoys traveling around the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife Jessie.
Noah Poythress, Software Engineer
Noah was brought in by Mischa to help maintain and develop new features as DoctorBase grows to serve more and more visitors each day. He enjoys reading, writing, linguistics and really anything involving computers.
Steven Solomon, Customer Success
Growing up in different parts of CA, Steven settled in the Sunset and attended San Francisco State University. While pursuing his degree in Entrepreneurship, he began his internship with DoctorBase. As the company's first intern, he wore many hats and discovered a passion for interfacing with customers. Upon his graduation from SFSU, he was hired on full-time to aid in customer relations and support. In his free time, Steven enjoys playing soccer, going on random adventures throughout the city and passionately follows the San Francisco Giants.
Chelsea Ciardelli, Web Designer
After growing up and going to school in Columbus, Ohio, Chelsea found herself in need of a new adventure. Naturally, she packed her bags and moved to San Francisco. Armed with her Bachelor's in Fine Arts, she keeps Mischa's and Noah’s code looking sharp. When Chelsea’s not beautifying DoctorBase, you can find her rock-climbing, bicycling or attempting rad skateboard moves around the City.
